My name is Annette Kebsch but my students call me Miss Annette since my last name can be tricky to pronounce. My music degree is from Washington State University where I studied with Alfred Boyington and Alan Bodman. I also studied music at the University of Washington with Vilem Sokol when I was a young teen. After graduating from college I taught music in the public schools in Alaska for 30 years. I was in Who's Who for American Teachers.
I teach piano, violin, and viola lessons in Gig Harbor, WA. I play in a local symphony orchestra and also manage and perform in two string quartets (Ambrosia String Quartet and Tacoma String Quartet). You can view the quartets at www.AmbrosiaStringQuartet.com. I am a member of MTNA and ASTA. In addition to these I belong to the Gig Harbor Music Teachers Association.
I customize my program for each student because no two students are the same. Therefore, many of my students use different books. Each student has a different goal. I have some students who wish to play their instrument for personal enjoyment and I have some students who plan to make a career out of it. One of my former students has performed at Carnegie Hall. Some of my students have entered major competitions. It is important to me that each of my students truly enjoys learning how to read music and play the instrument of their choice, whatever their goal may be.
